Access to Information (PAIA)

Effective date: [Insert publication date]

Unashamedly Ethical NPC (“UE”) supports the right of access to information under the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”). This page explains how to request access to UE records and where to find our PAIA Manual.

PAIA Request Form (Form 2):

  • Proof of identity must be attached.
  • If acting on behalf of another person/organisation, proof of authority must be attached.

Requests must include sufficient detail to identify the record requested and must indicate the right you are exercising or protecting (where relevant).

UE will consider PAIA requests as soon as reasonably possible and aims to respond within 30 days of receiving a complete request. In limited cases, the period may be extended once, for a further period (as permitted by PAIA).

PAIA allows for prescribed request/access fees in certain cases. Where fees apply, we will notify you before further processing.

5. If your request is refused or not responded to

Private bodies do not provide an internal appeal process under PAIA.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome, or if there is no response after the required period, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

Complaint Form (Form 5):

Complaints to the Information Regulator must be lodged within 180 days of refusal, no response, or after the prescribed period has elapsed.
